-
Assisted in the preparation of Highland's events
The Experience
My internship experience with Highland Film Group was one that really helped develop myself professionally. I got to utilize skills that I have learned during my academic career as well as developed new ones. I quickly drew to marketing because of the intersections it has between my passion for film and data analysis.
In regards to my N.D.A. I signed with Highland Film Group I am unable to disclose specific examples of my work but this is an general description of my experience.
In order to efficiently market a film, you must understand your audience and how to reach them. To do this, I utilized previous Highland titles marketing decks and analyzed them to figure out what work and what did not work. I then used this information by tailoring the insights to help match the target audience of the new campaign. Additionally during the films campaign, I collected data for the film and created weekly reports in regard to its performance.
One project that I am very honored to have taken lead on was an entrance strategy for Highland Film Group to enter the AVOD (Advertising-Based Video on Demand) landscape. I presented my research, findings, and suggestion to the whole company where it was met with great praise.
Other marketing tasks I got hands on experience with was creating trailers, posters and synopsis for newly acquired films. This was a nice creative activity that I generated new and unique insights for.
Outside of studying and working I spent most of my time exploring. I frequently went for runs and hikes around Hollywood. I enjoyed most weekends at sporting events or surfing!
I even had the opportunity to work at Super Bowl LVI as a teammate for Populous.
